in Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti, amen. Suscipe, Pater.
a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.
Dear Brethren in Christ,
What follows is a working hypothesis. It is an attempt to systematize what I have been taught and have learned from ancient Christian wisdom (that is, the Holy Fathers), and the priests and teachers who interpret this wisdom today. It is by no means complete, and I must emphasize emphatically: I am not asserting anything. This is a hypothesis, and as such it is intended to be exactly what the above definition says. I would emphasize the words “on the basis of limited evidence” and “starting point for further investigation.” As St. Thomas Aquinas wrote, “I do not wish to be obstinate in my opinions, but submit all to the judgment of the Holy See.” In the same way, I submit this not only to the judgment of our bishops, but to all Christians in every place.
And so, dear brethren, I offer this to you for your judgment. Please correct, clarify, disagree and improve upon what is written below, that in all things love and truth may prevail among us who call upon the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father, amen.
Liber I: ut per omnia Unitas (The Unity of God and Unity of Humanity) That the element of being is the Trinity in Unity and the Unity in Trinity who gives life_____that the Trinity gives life through the unity of Substance in the diversity of persons through love_____that God established Man and Woman and the fruit of the womb—the Family— to be life-giving through love as the Image of the Trinity _____that the Man’s union with the Woman brings forth fruit, as the union of Truth (substance) and Love (personhood) brings forth Life, and this represents each gender’s special gift_____that the union of these three are realized when the Family fulfills its divine vocation as Priest (Truth), Prophet (Love), and King (Life)_____that these three constitute our relationship to God, our relationship to each other, and our relationship to the Earth, respectively_____that our God solidified these when He established the mystery of the Two Great Commandments from the beginning_____that this mystery was a prelude to the full union of Humanity in the divine life of the Trinity_____that this is because the Two allow Humanity to fulfill the aforesaid roles and relationships with one willful action with the help God’s power_____that these Two are to love God and love neighbor, and they cannot be separated, and are thus one action of the will.
Liber II: quia peccavi nimis (The Disunity of Humanity) That the sin of Humanity is the failure to realize the union of Truth and Love—that this causes the division of the Family and thus bringing death (that is, preventing life-giving) to all three relationships and roles_____that this failure, moreover, is precisely a separation of the Two Great Commandments and thus a separation of God from Humanity, and the convolution of Truth (substance) and Love (personhood)
Liber III: quia pater noster praecepit nobis (Jer. 35:6/42:6 – Human Unity through Culture) That fallen Humanity still possesses the natural seed of the life-giving Truth-Love union and so erects institutions to try to become the Family and become life-giving _____ that these institutions are Eldership (Love) and Tradition (Truth) which combine to create Generativity (Life)_____that these institutions attempt to realize Humanity’s divine vocation as Priest, Prophet, and King in order to actualize the three relationships between God, Humanity, and the Earth_____ that without the revelation of the divine grace of God to enable the fulfillment of the Two Great Commandments, fallen Humanity is unable to fill up death and unite with God so as to be truly life-giving.
Liber IV: vos eritis mihi in regnum sacerdotale, et gens sancta (Ex. 19:6 – the People of Israel) That our God called forth to Himself the people Israel in order to begin to fill up the emptiness of death with Life by the revelation of His divine grace_____ that this revealed a greater amount of Truth and Love than what was naturally known by Fallen Humanity_____ that this revelation illuminated Fallen Humanity’s institutions of Eldership-Tradition-Generativity and Priest-Prophet-King_____that this people and their Law became the designs for the final filling up of death because it reintroduced Humanity to the Two Great Commandments.
Liber V: et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam, et portae inferi non praevalebunt adversus eam. (Mt. 16:18 – Christ and His Body) That our God—in the incarnation, life, death, resurrection and ascension of the Son of God through the Blessed Virgin and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit—has forever united Humanity with the divine Family of the Trinity_____that this is accomplished through the union of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit which creates the union of Truth and Love in the God-Man, and His work fills up death and pours forth the Life-giving fruit of the Holy Spirit, carrying us to transcendent union with God the Father.
_____that the Church becomes the Sacrament of this transcendent union through the Mystery of the Eucharistic Sacrifice_____that this Sacrifice (together with the rest of the Church’s divine elements) completely fulfills the divine vocation of Humanity to be Priest-Prophet-King and have Life filling up Eldership-Tradition-Generativity_____that this is accomplished in the Sacrifice because it is itself the life of the God-Man, which is the final revelation of the Two Great Commandments_____that the Two great commandments are manifested because the Sacrifice can only be celebrating where two or three are gathered, and thusly the obligation to God and neighbor is solidified
_____that the Sacrifice is offered by the Church which is founded on the union of the person of Peter and his confession of the Trinity and Incarnation
_____that this Petrine-confession union is the union of masculine primacy (Truth) and feminine conciliarity (Love) which brings forth the Eucharist (Life)
_____that this primacy-conciliarity union is itself manifested in the world in three levels which all manifest Truth-Love-Life_____that the first level is the union of Bishop (Truth) and church (Love) offering the Eucharistic Sacrifice (Life) which is the “whole” (catholic) church everywhere in all lands
_____that in order to identify this assembly as whole (Life-giving) among many members, the wider union of churches must be realized through the union of the Patriarch (Truth) with the collection of catholic churches (Love) in one transient nation and local council
_____that the multitude of transient nations necessitates a wider union still, which is the union of Papa (Truth) with the national churches (Love) in the ecumenical council, which confirms the universal Life of every whole (catholic) church
_____that thusly the universal primacy is Truth, and the national primacy is Love, and their union empowers the diocesan primacy of the Bishop and his catholic Church (Life) to offer the Eucharistic Sacrifice and enter into the divine life of the Trinity_____that thusly through each level of primacy-conciliarity, the balance between substance (Truth) and personhood (Love) is maintained_____that thusly is the Holy Trinity made manifest to the world
_____that just as the Fall of Humanity was the failure to realize the familial Truth-Love union, so every division of the Church is a failure to realize the balance of these levels of primacy-conciliarity which create the Life of the whole (catholic) church everywhere in all lands_____that this balance is the divine vocation of Humanity as Priest (union of Bishop-people sacrificing the Eucharist: Truth), of Prophet (every Christian creating Love through Truth) and King (multiplying the fruit of Life and ruling the earth)_____that this failure of balance is nothing less than pride against God, hatred towards Humanity, and profanation of the Earth
_____that God, because of the steadfastness of the martyrs, was pleased to subject the Roman Empire to His Son in order to use it as an instrument for His glory_____that the primary fruit of this instrumentality was in the lives of the Saints and their confession of Orthodoxy in the Seven Ecumenical Councils_____that this instrumentality was maintained as long as the balance between the primacy of Papa in the west (Truth) and the conciliarity maintained by the Emperor in the east (Love) brought forth the revelation of God the Holy Trinity (Life)
_____that Papa of Old Rome failed to shepherd the Church with Love, and the Roman Emperor at New Rome failed to submit to the Truth always confessed by Papa, placed himself in the place of God by dealing harshly with his people _____that thusly the people were lead astray and the Church divided_____that God, after sending forth innumerable prophets to correct his people and their kings and priests, sent forth His wrath upon the Roman Empire in order to humble it and bring the two halves together_____
that this wrath began with the invasion of the Muhammadans in the seventh century______that the Roman Emperor in particular, still hardened his heart against God, and, instead of uniting the Church through humility to the chair of St. Peter, attempted to destroy its very foundations through Iconoclasm, thereby joining forces with the Muhammadans_____that because of this pride, the Roman Empire was torn asunder and broke the cultural of the Church_____that this political dissonance ultimately lead to a cultural dissonance, which ended up in each cultural attempting to force the other to assume their personhood, a convolution of substance (Truth) and personhood (Love)_____that this is chiefly seen in the Greek east disallowing other baptismal creeds than the Greek one (i.e. the Filioque controversy), and the Latin west attempting to rule the east according to the regional papal primacy over-extended upon the east (i.e. Papa assuming too much power)_____that nevertheless these two great traditions held firm to their own particular personhoods, and kept the Apostolic faith intact_____that in order to unify, the Greek east must accept Papa’s apology for his misdeeds in provoking their distrust, and be willing to accommodate Latin Christian culture, so that they can work with Papa for the reshaping and reinstituting of his universal fatherhood.
_____that the Protester movement of the 16th century removed the critical elements of Eucharist and Bishop from the Church, relying instead on individualistic authority, _____that this meant separating the Two great commandments, believing that one could know God without the mediation of the community_____that this choice created a disease in the Body of Christ called “anti-culture” which denies the authority of Eldership (Love) and Tradition (Truth) and thus cannot unify through Generativity (Life)_____that this causes massive division on every level of the family and society_____that the mature fruit of this disease is paganism and slavery to sin (secularism)_____that in order to reconcile the Protesters must accept Papa’s apology for his deeds which provoked their protest and then repent of their individualistic conception of the Bible and humbly listen to the wisdom of the Elders, so that they can work with Papa for the reshaping and reinstituting of his universal fatherhood.
